Cleaning a Wood Heater
Posted by steve on 17th May 2008
If there was one area when it comes to owning a wood heater that is often neglected is keeping the wood heater clean. Now, this does not mean that the wood heater needs to be cleaned on a daily basis. That would not be necessary and it would be a bit of overkill. But, to never clean a wood stove would be very neglectful in terms of the proper care and maintenance of the heater. If the Energieberater wood heater is never cleaned and massive amounts of ash and dirt collect it can lead to the significant diminished operating capacity of the Kachelofen heater. So, to not clean the heater would undermine the very purpose of owning the heater. Clearly, that is not the wisest option to take. It would be far better to dedicate one day a week to giving the wood heater a cursory cleaning and then investing one day a month to give it a thorough cleaning. This would not only increase its ability to function but it would also extend the life of the heater. Not a bad plan, eh? Remember, the purchase of a Holzofen Bullerjan wood heater is an investment and it would be a good idea to get into habits that preserve your investment.
